A hero can be many different types of people and have many different qualities. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a hero as a person admired for achievements and noble qualities. Tom Hanks said, â€Å"A hero is somebody who voluntarily walks into the unknown†. Heroes are strong and courageous, but they can also be quiet and work behind the scenes. Eleanor Roosevelt once said â€Å"We do not have to become heroes overnight. Just a step at a time, meeting each thing that comes up... discovering we have the strength to stare it down†. In his novel, Eric Blehm portrays some obvious heroes, but some of them are low key and stay behind the scenes. Throughout the novel Fearless there are many heroes; Nathan, Savannah, Kelley, and Adam are all heroes†¦show more content†¦The author states on page 307 â€Å"There was no doorbell on this house- the sound haunted Kelley.† She knew that God had a purpose; the way she saw it there was no other choice but to wake up, be there for her children, and use her trials to help others. However, before that, Kelley was Adam’s savior. She never gave up on him. When Kelley first met Adam she said â€Å"This isn’t you. It’s the drug. You have so much more to offer than this, Adam Brown. You know what? I’m going to pray for you.† Kelley was resilient, even from the beginning, when others turned away she was always there. Shawn, Adam’s older brother, turned his back on Adam; Author Eric Blehm states â€Å"Shawn was done. He wanted nothing more to do with his brother†. Kelley always helped him get back on track after a relapse or a failed rehab. After his last relapse, Kelley said â€Å"you are not going to throw all this away. You need to be strong; we’ve got a family now.† Without Kelley, Adam would never have been a hero. Adam Brown is the definition of a hero. The first part of Adam’s life was very unusual. He struggled with an addiction to drugs. Adam went from being a great kid in high school to a drug addict in college. Of all the people in Hot Springs, no one thought that Adam Brown would become addicted to drugs. Adam went to rehab multiple times, but sooner or later he would relapse.
